Skye Ecotech

1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account or using Skye Ecotech and SkyeConnect (the "Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). We provide a free community space for technology professionals, students and enthusiasts focused on sustainable computing, green technology and professional networking. Skye Ecotech is a free platform. We do not offer paid services, billing or subscriptions. Violations of these Terms may result in suspension or termination of your account.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Scrape, copy or harvest other members' professional data or profiles (e.g., skills, GitHub links, resumes).
• Post spam, off-topic content, harassment, hate speech or illegal material in the SkyeConnect forum.
• Manipulate polls, votes or discussion rankings through automated or fraudulent means.
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your qualifications, affiliations or identity.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access jobs, profiles or discussion content.
• Upload malicious files, malware or content that infringes on intellectual property rights.
• Abuse the AI Insights feature by submitting harmful, illegal or excessively large prompts.
• Use the Platform for unsolicited commercial recruitment spam or mass solicitation of members.

We reserve the right to moderate, edit or remove content and to ban repeat offenders without prior notice.

3. Platform Features & Disclaimers

Jobs Board: Job listings are fetched from the Adzuna API for display purposes only. We are not responsible for job listing accuracy, availability, employer actions or outcomes from clicking external job links. Job details (including salaries, locations and descriptions) are provided by third parties and may not always be accurate or up to date. You must verify all details directly with the employer or posting party before taking any action. All external links are user-initiated.

GitHub Integration: Displays public repositories only via the GitHub API. You warrant that displaying your public repos does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.

Education Search: University data is fetched from third-party APIs (e.g., Hipolabs). We do not verify the accuracy or completeness of institution data.

All Platform features are provided free of charge. The Platform is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

4. Intellectual Property

• You retain ownership of your content (posts, comments, bio, resume, profile information).
• You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your content on the Platform.
• Platform name, logos, designs and branding are © Skye Ecotech; no unauthorized use is permitted.

5. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Johannesburg, South Africa.
